Elevated Thought is a Lawrence, MA-based 501(c)(3) organization that creates spaces for BIPOC youth and communities to explore art, culture, and social justice through free creative programming
My Role
Lead Designer
I led the redesign process, working directly with the Executive Director and Art Director to reimagine the site’s structure, design, and storytelling. I also collaborated with a video producer and a contracted illustrator to bring new visual elements to life
Discovery
I began by auditing their existing site and identifying areas for improvement in clarity, navigation, and visual impact. I provided a detailed review and met with leadership to align on goals:
• Make the site more engaging and community-focused
• Improve event visibility
• Highlight programs and opportunities for collaboration
• Reflect the organization’s energy and identity
Design Highlights
• Introduced a more vibrant and expressive color palette
• Redesigned homepage with featured events, a youth quote, and Instagram feed
• Created new pages for adult classes and commissions
• Updated the staff page with clearer bios and structure
• Integrated new illustrations and video assets
• Improved calls to action and contact points throughout
Process
The project went through multiple rounds of feedback and revision. Each phase included consultation with the core team, incorporating feedback to ensure the site reflected both their mission and community.
Outcome
The redesigned site better represents Elevated Thought’s impact, energy, and evolving work. It creates clear pathways for visitors to learn more, donate, and reach out for future opportunities.
